Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated September 4, 2026

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change what we recommend.

How you will know

Any article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure at the top, before the content — not buried at the bottom. Affiliate links themselves are marked in the page’s code with rel="sponsored nofollow", as search-engine and advertising rules require.

What a commission does not buy

  • A recommendation. We recommend tools we would recommend without a programme, and we say plainly when a free alternative is better.
  • A position in a list. Rankings follow the criteria stated in the article.
  • Silence about problems. Limitations, fees and risks are described whether or not we earn from the link.

If a partner asks us to remove criticism, we end the partnership rather than the criticism.

Programmes we participate in

[PLACEHOLDER — list every affiliate programme and network you actually join, e.g. “Amazon Associates”. Several programmes, including Amazon’s, require specific disclosure wording — use theirs verbatim where their terms demand it.]
