What gets checked
Every factual claim: fees, commission rates, payout thresholds, eligibility requirements, platform rules, prices, dates, statistics and country-specific regulations.
Source hierarchy
- Primary sources first — the platform’s own documentation, terms of service and pricing page; government and regulator publications; official statistics.
- Named research — published surveys and studies, cited with their publisher and date.
- Never — undated blog posts, screenshots of unknown origin, aggregated “statistics” with no traceable source, or another site’s uncited claim.
Every article’s sources are listed at the bottom, with links, so you can check them yourself.
Dates
Each article shows a published date and a last-reviewed date. The last-reviewed date changes only when a person has actually re-checked the content — not when we fix a typo. Articles quoting prices also carry the date those prices were verified.
Numbers about income
We report what a platform publishes about pay structure, or what a named survey found. We do not publish typical, average or expected earnings as if they were facts about you, because they are not.
Who checks
Fact-checking is done by someone other than the author, using the [fact-checker role]. Where an article covers a specialist area beyond our team, we say so rather than pretending otherwise.
